Donations

How you can contribute

PFARS is an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation for the sole purpose of providing superior quality emergency medical and technical rescue services to the community. To provide these services, PFARS relies on donations of time and money. As call volume, operational equipment and administrative costs increase, tax deductible donations become increasingly important. In addition to daily operations and vehicle purchases, PFARS must also raise money to build a replacement headquarters that can accommodate our officers, members, and apparatus. PFARS offers multiple options for financial contributions:

Mail-In Donation

If you prefer, you may mail in your contribution by check. Please note if you would like to make a donation in honor or memory of someone.

Monthly Pledge

Each month, a designated amount can be given to PFARS. By making a monthly pledge, you are able to support the efforts of our dedicated volunteers without paying all at once.

Donations in Honor

Celebrate an occasion (birthday, anniversary or life event) with donations in lieu of gifts.

Appreciated Securities

Gifts of appreciated securities can be put to work immediately, whether for a specific purpose, general operational support or investment as a permanent endowment.

Bequests

A simple and wonderful way to make a contribution is to leave a specific amount of money, a particular asset or a percentage of an estate by naming PFARS as a beneficiary in a will or trust.

Charitable Trusts

By naming PFARS as the irrevocable beneficiary in a trust, donors are provided with the benefits of a current tax deduction as well as income from the asset. Upon the passing of the donor, the value of the trust supports PFARS.

Property

Retaining a life tenancy in a primary residence to be later donated to PFARS gives a donor an immediate charitable tax deduction and the security of knowing family members will not be burdened with the sale of a home or property at some future date.

Memorials

Donations may be made in memory of a friend or loved one. A list of donors is provided to the family by PFARS in a timely manner.
