The heart of a service organization is its people. All members of PFARS are dedicated individuals working together to provide countless hours of service to the community. The Squad's reputation for providing high quality service is a direct result of attracting intelligent individuals looking to gain valuable life experience, learn new skills and care for the the community and its members. PFARS provides training and an operational structure geared towards developing strong patient care providers and community leaders.
PFARS is a combination department, meaning that our staff is comprised of both volunteer and paid full-time and per diem members. The success of the organization has come largely through this combined effort, which is unusual in this industry. The Squad has acted as an extended family for many of the members to have passed through our station, and many have learned valuable life experience that has benefited them personnally and professionally later in life. Some members began their membership as cadets while in high school, and have continued through until becoming a life member 10 years later. We believe that if you are looking for a positive life experience and a place to gain friendships, then PFARS may be the right choice for you.
